Three Cork schools have come together to present a unique production at Cork Opera House this week. Terence McSwiney Community College, Ballingcollig Community School and Douglas Community School will take to the stage at Cork’s premier venue this Wednesday 13th May at 7.30pm.
Under the direction of Philip McTeggart Walsh, forty students from the three Cork schools have come together to present a show titled, ‘An African Journey’. Various themes will be depicted within the performances from relationships, good vs evil and life discovery retold through music and theatre.

Students from Terence McSwiney Community College.
An African drum ensemble performed by the students of Terence MacSwiney will provide the musical backdrop to the performance, underpinned with other instruments including flute and keyboards.
This production draws on the combined talent of students from Terence MacSwiney Community College, Ballincollig Community School and Douglas Community School. In the lead up to the show, the students between the ages of thirteen and seventeen came together twice a week in Cork Arts Theatre to rehearse as well as getting to know each other. It has been an ideal opportunity for students to mix and share each other’s stories of school life and interests while working on a common project.
Funding towards the show has been generously sponsored by the TOMAR Trust, a fund established by Mr. Tom Cavanagh, well known for his philanthropic work.
All Tickets are €15
